Here we take a look at our previous students and admire the amazing things they have moved onto since their training started at Integr8!
Jimmy started dancing with Integr8 when he was 9 years old and has been with us since. When he moved on from being a student he has worked in London doing breaking conventions, working with Dancers Delight, with Nike on Serious about Street Dance and he also assisted in a three day intensive dance school in Denmark. He has moved onto working with the adult company at Boy Blue doing entertainment, alongside this is has also had experience working in the professional performance environment doing tv work and music videos.
Recently he has joined another crew with Dylan Mayoral training in different styles and rehearsing for performances and videos. Currently Jimmy is studying A-level dance In Portsmouth learning new styles like ballet, tap, jazz and contemporary to expand on his working knowledge. Jimmy is still connected with Integr8 with a part-time job co-running two competitive dance crews and teaching advanced street.
Throughout secondary school Patrick trained at Integr8 Dance attending many classes and workshops, leading to his first production of ‘Mid City Nights Dream’ when he was 12 years old – this production kick started a journey and real love for the Performing Arts. He is currently at the Royal School of Speech and Drama in his second year doing a Bachelor of Arts in Musical Theatre.
The opportunities provided to him by Integr8 really helped him grow as a performer and gave him the chance to work with a wide variety of people, learning different skills. His experience with the company provided him with valuable training not only in street dance, but in storytelling and being able to express feeling and emotions using his body
“Integr8 shows are a fantastic way for people to be introduced to the performing arts and let themselves be creative in a number of different ways”
Felicity started dancing with integr8 when she developed an interest in Hip-Hop and wanted to learn more about street dance styles, she later became interested in contemporary dance. Following time spent training with Hampshire Youth Dance Company and Swindon CAT scheme, she later moved from Winchester to London and graduated from London Studio Centre, Intoto Dance Company in 2020 – whilst there she worked and did performances choreographed by Duwane Taylor and also worked with Luke Birch on his short film Terrain. During her time training with London Studio Centre, she also collaborated with a Central Saint Martins designer for Design for Dance.
When working independently Felicity undertook Jorge Crecis’s Towards Vivencia programme, a programme training peak performance presence and has also interned with Alleyne Dance. She has participated in workshops at numerous dance festivals such as b12 Berlin Workshop Festival, ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival and HJS Amsterdam Summer Intensive, where she trained with practitioner Anton Lachky. During her time training and performing she has also competed in experimental battles, attaining Runners-Up in KRE8! Bonnie and Clyde Experimental Battles at B-SIDE Hip-Hop festivals 2018.
Felicity is now graduated JV2 – Jasmin Vardimon Company Professional Development Certificate 2020/21. Josh started dancing with Integr8 when he was 8 years old and danced for 6 years, he then went on to train doing contemporary, ballet and some more experience in breaking. Once he had done that for a few years he got into the National Centre for Circus Arts learning juggling, Chinese pole, acrobatics, tumbling and aerial techniques. He is now collaborating with Simple Cypher, remaking one of the three performances that they are putting on in the summer, he will be doing a duo with another performer who is going to be incorporating a cyr wheel. Alongside working with Simple Cypher he is back at Integr8 starting his teaching training and planning on incorporating the exciting skills he learned at NCCA into his future classes.
